Business & Community Development Coordinator

About the Position

BE Dance Studios is seeking an ambitious, relationship-driven, and strategic Business & Community Development Coordinator to help grow the reach and financial sustainability of the studio and its programs. This role focuses on building meaningful partnerships, securing sponsorships, and creating opportunities for BE Dance Studios to thrive as both an artistic and community anchor.

The ideal candidate has a passion for the arts, an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong communication skills. They understand how to connect businesses, organizations, and community members to a meaningful mission — and can translate that connection into sponsorships, advertising partnerships, and event collaborations that generate lasting impact.

Responsibilities

  • Secure sponsorships and advertising partners for BE Dance Studios’ events, programs, and performances.

  • Develop and manage partnerships with local businesses, corporations, community organizations, and philanthropists to support BE Dance’s mission and initiatives.

  • Coordinate the sale of program book ads, in-studio advertisements (television displays, flyers, signage), and digital sponsorship placements.

  • Book BE Dance Theatre and the BE Dance Mini, Young, and Emerging Artists for community performances, festivals, and events.

  • Plan and execute fundraising and revenue-generating events for the studio, such as markets, galas, or seasonal showcases — including future large-scale initiatives like a Nutcracker Market inspired by the Houston Ballet model.

  • Secure event and program sponsors to support student scholarships, special performances, and the studio’s long-term vision — with current priority toward funding for a new BE Dance Studios home.

  • Coordinate and oversee facility rentals for outside events, rehearsals, and community partnerships.

  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director, Marketing & Communications Assistant, and administrative team to ensure consistent messaging, reporting, and partnership follow-up.

  • Maintain detailed records of sponsors, donors, advertising sales, and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proven ability to meet fundraising or sales goals.

  • Experience in sponsorship development, event coordination, marketing, or community engagement preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities; able to balance multiple initiatives.

  • Self-motivated, professional, and passionate about the performing arts and community connection.

  • Creative thinker who can generate ideas and execute them effectively.
