About BE Dance Studios
BE Dance Studios is a thriving dance school located in the city of Miramar. Our studio is dedicated to providing outstanding dance education and presenting remarkable dance works for our students and community. We are currently fine-tuning and expanding our team and are seeking mission-driven dance educators who align with our mission and studio values.
We offer a variety of programs for ages 2–Adult and are currently seeking exceptional instructors to serve our program. Reporting to the Artistic Director, our teachers work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and inspired.
About the Position
We are looking for an engaging and culturally knowledgeable African Dance & Drumming Instructor to lead dynamic community-based classes and studio electives. This instructor should have strong experience in one or more traditional African dance styles and/or live drumming and the ability to connect that knowledge to students of all ages and experience levels.
This position includes leading family-friendly classes, community wellness offerings, and supporting programming tied to BE Dance Studios’ cultural events and seasonal performances.
Key Responsibilities
Teach African Dance and/or African Drumming to children, teens, adults, and families.
Create a welcoming and energetic space that celebrates cultural history and movement.
Incorporate live drumming and call-and-response as appropriate.
Collaborate with studio leadership on special programming, performance pieces, and community events.
Support student engagement, class enrollment, and cultural education through interactive class experiences.
Qualifications
Deep knowledge and training in one or more forms of African Dance and/or Drumming
Experience teaching culturally responsive dance classes in studio or community settings
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
Commitment to BE Dance Studios’ values, including cultural sensitivity and community connection
Available to teach in-person in Miramar, FL on weekends (primarily Sundays) and for occasional studio events
Bonus Qualifications
Ability to work with live drummers or provide drumming instruction
Familiarity with West African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Brazilian, or Afro-Haitian styles
Previous experience collaborating in community wellness or arts outreach initiatives
Ability to choreograph for community showcases or performancesabbit or Go High Level
Availability & Schedule
This is a part-time position ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week (teaching & admin) depending on season and enrollment. Candidates must be available for scheduled classes and planning meetings. Monthly and quarterly teacher collaboration sessions are required.
